Jennah Wootten Appointed to Board of Perpetual Guardian Group
Experienced director and chief executive Jennah Wootten has joined the board of Perpetual Guardian Group, effective January this year. Ms Wootten’s appointment comes amid significant internal promotions, including Jennifer Tweed to the role of Chief Operations Officer and Kirsten Kilian-Taylor as Head of Philanthropy.
Ms Wootten is currently deputy chair of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and the chief executive officer of Aktive – Auckland Sport & Recreation. She has extensive experience in leading commercially successful and high-profile events and was previously a director of Cricket 2021 Limited, the company established to deliver the 2021 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
Ms Wootten also served as General Manager Partnerships and Communications at Sport New Zealand, and as General Manager, Destination and Manager Major Events at ATEED where she played a lead role in Auckland’s Rugby World Cup 2011 programme, the FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup bid, and the creation of Auckland’s first Major Events Strategy.
Ms Tweed, a lawyer by trade, joined the Perpetual Guardian Group in 2018 and most recently served as Group General Manager, Client Services before becoming COO for the Group. She has an extensive background in senior management in workplace consultancy and as a general counsel.
Ms Kilian-Taylor is one of New Zealand’s foremost specialists in philanthropy management and stewardship and has been with the Group for nearly 13 years, previously as the General Manager of the Perpetual Guardian Foundation before becoming Head of Philanthropy for the Group. She is also a trustee of the Global Centre of Possibility.
Jennah Wootten says, “I was pleased to start 2024 by joining the Perpetual Guardian Group board as a director working alongside Andrew Barnes, Ben Heap, and James Douglas. It has been a pleasure meeting the team and seeing their passion for the incredibly valuable work the organisation does under Patrick Gamble’s leadership. There is enormous opportunity ahead for the Group which I’m looking forward to supporting.”
Perpetual Guardian Group CEO Patrick Gamble says, “We are pleased to be further strengthening our high-calibre board and executive at a critical time for the Group. We are continuing to expand organically and by acquisition, having recently completed the transaction for the Private Wealth division of Trustees Executors Limited.
“Jennah is a highly experienced, respected, and influential director and executive whose work changes organisations for the better. Her expertise will be invaluable to the board as the Group continues to deepen its market-leading estate planning, fiduciary, investment advisory, and philanthropy services.”
